The Cross Country Ski Association of Manitoba is thrilled to announce the Windsor Park Nordic Centre clubhouse and trails will remain open during spring break in Winnipeg for the first time in over a decade. The final day of the 2021-2022 ski season will be Sunday April 3, 2022.
“This will be our longest ski season in 20 years! So much snow has fallen this winter, our base is huge, and we expect our trails to hold up very well to the warm temperatures over the next couple of weeks. The skiing conditions should be excellent. We are encouraging everyone to take advantage of all this snow we have, especially now that mild, spring weather is upon us.” said Laurie Penton, General Manager at Windsor Park Nordic Centre.
Windsor Park Nordic Centre, located at 10 rue Des Meurons in St. Vital, maintains over 10 km of daily groomed ski trails for classic and skate skiing techniques. The entire trail system is lit until 10:00 PM, 7 days per week. The staffed clubhouse is also open 7 days per week where you can purchase a trail pass, rent ski equipment, and treat yourself to a cup of hot chocolate or a freshly ground espresso beverage.
If the price of fuel has you thinking of a “staycation” this year, keep in mind a day or evening of skiing costs less than a movie date and is the perfect outdoor recreation for the entire family.
