Maryland Sports and Entertainment Corp. Shares Update on Events

In light of the global precautions being taken to reduce the spread of COVID-19, more commonly known as Cornoavirus, please find below an update on behalf of the Sport and Entertainment Corporation of Maryland (The Sport Corp) regarding our current plans for events in 2020.

First and foremost, the health of our staff, attendees and partners will always be our first priority. We are closely monitoring the situation and following guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO), Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and our State leadership so that we can continue to make ongoing assessments as developments unfold. 

As of today, our plans for 2020 remain unchanged and we are excited to continue planning our two events this year, the Maryland Cycling Classic (Sept. 4-6) and the Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill (October 15-18). We are also working on our 2026 World Cup efforts for which we are looking to launch various web and social content in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, while our employees are working remotely, we are working on producing more content for our online followers and will continue to update as things develop. As of now, we are continuing to publish content and updates on our sites and through our social channels. Finally, we are sending our best wishes to everyone who is being affected by the virus and our thoughts go out to you, your families and your communities. 

Pending any additional unforeseen developments, we look forward to seeing you at our events later this year as planned and are looking forward to reconnecting the sports world and helping the sport tourism industry return to business as usual!
