Meet Boston, the official destination marketing and sales organization for the Greater Boston area, has signed on as a host partner for the Boston Triathlon and supertri Boston.
The supertri race in Boston is part of the Boston Triathlon, which owned by event organising firm ethos and is title-sponsored by Columbia Threadneedle Investments. It has its 16th edition on August 17-18, 2024.
The weekend-long Boston Triathlon includes Kids Day at the Boston Tri, the Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon (Olympic and sprint distance races), and supertri Boston (pro athlete league).
“Since day one, we have been focused on partnering with quality organizations so the Boston Tri can have a positive impact on the city of Boston and ensure this is a race for everyone,” said Michael O’Neil, President of the Boston Triathlon.
“We are excited to host the first ever supertri Boston and work with Meet Boston to show Boston Triathlon participants and supertri fans around the world how vibrant and amazing the city is during the summer.”
Boston Triathlon participants and fans will have the opportunity to watch elite triathletes compete as part of supertri Boston, the last event of the weekend, just a fortnight after the gold medals have been handed out in Paris.
As a season opener of the supertri League, the event will include a live, global TV broadcast, giving audiences a chance to see the world’s best triathletes race in Boston. supertri is expanding to North America where it will host two new events in the USA to form a five-stop league that will see fast, technical, and tactical racing on spectator friendly stadium-like courses.
“We look forward to working with the Boston Triathlon and Meet Boston to further our vision to inspire the competitor in everyone within the Boston community,” said Michael D’hulst, supertri CEO and Co-Founder.
“We are excited to bring the supertri League to the iconic sports city of Boston. Boston will kick off our 2024 global series and be a chance to see the gold medallists compete in high-octane racing just a fortnight after the Paris Olympics.”
The weekend-long Boston Triathlon is expected to bring thousands of participants and fans to the Boston waterfront for two days of races for kids, adults, relay teams, and Olympians.
“We partner with events and organizations that highlight the very best of Boston and provide opportunities to bring visitors to our city,” said Martha Sheridan, President and CEO at Meet Boston.
“Over its 16-year history, the Boston Triathlon has increasingly drawn athletes from around the country and the world to race here in our great city. The Boston Triathlon / supertri Boston weekend showcases some of the most scenic parts of the destination and offers both family-friendly activities and exhilarating competition among the world’s best athletes.”
