Ann Arbor Outlines Upcoming Events, New Facilities and Hotels

The Ann Arbor Sports Commission has shared the following updates on the area:
 

  • March: USA Artistic Swimming Collegiate Championship and NAIA Competitive Cheer/Dance – these prestigious championships showcase top collegiate athletes and attract hundreds of competitors and spectators.
  • April: NCAA Men’s Gymnastics National Championships – A premier NCAA event featuring elite gymnasts from across the country, drawing national attention.
  • July: U.S. Rowing Rowfest 2025 – Hosted at the newly enhanced Ford Lake Rowing Course, this event will bring thousands of athletes, coaches and spectators from over 100 clubs across the U.S.

 

  • Attractions and Infrastructure 
    • Ford Lake Rowing Course – Launched in the first half of 2024 and still new, this initiative represents a landmark effort to establish Michigan’s largest rowing course and one of only 16 venues in the United States with the capacity for 8-lane racing, setting a new benchmark for aquatic sports facilities in the state of Michigan. This state-of-the-art facility will also host Rowfest 2025, bringing the entire U.S. rowing community together to the area for a major summer event.

       
  • Hotels
    • AC Hotels by Marriott will be a 139-room hotel rising six stories and broke ground in July 2024 and is expected to open in Fall of 2025.
    • Vanguard Hotel on Glen Avenue, a mixed-use development including hotel rooms, apartments, retail space, and a restaurant and bar, is expected to open in the Spring of 2025 with 188 rooms. View more details.
