The 2023 Midwestern Sectional Singles and U.S. Pairs Final-November 2022.

“This is a first-rate sports event for the region, and for the governing body to select Greater Lansing to host is a huge win,” said Mike Price, Executive Director of the GLSA. “Our resume of past successful ice sports events combined with the strength of our regional ice sports partners was a key to getting this event, which will have all kinds of positive impact on the community as a whole.”

This event is two events merged into one. First, the Mid-western Sectionals Singles Final will bring skaters from the Midwest Region to compete for a spot at the 2023 U.S Figure Skating Championships or the U.S Figure Skating’s National High Performance Development Camp in San Jose.

The U.S. Pairs Final will bring approximately 60 pairs of teams from across the country for their final event and the opportunity to compete at the 2023 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. The 2024 NCAA DI Women’s Golf Regional in May 2024.

“We’re very excited that Michigan State was selected to host an NCAA Women’s Golf Regional again and we’re looking forward to partnering with the Greater Lansing Sports Authority to host the event,” said Alan Haller, Athletic Director at Michigan State University. “It’s an honor to be recognized as a host for an event that will bring together some of the best collegiate programs in the country as we get the opportunity to showcase the East Lansing community and our tremendous course at Forest Akers.”

The GLSA, Michigan State University, and Forest Akers Golf Course in East Lansing will serve as one of the six regional sites which will feature 12 teams and six individuals, with the top four teams and top two individuals (not on an advancing team) qualifying for the championships.
