Thought to be the first of its kind, a Dog Dualthlon will be held in New Brighton, MN, on Sept. 14. The www.exploreminnestoa.com website stated:
A duathlon, an emerging form of multisport event, includes two sports, sometimes in more than two segments. This event will incorporate a 400M swim and a 5K run/walk.
The event will be held in Long Lake Regional Park, New Brighton, MN.

Dogs will need proof of vaccines. Each dog/human partner will receive a full packet of goods, race lifejacket for the dog and finisher T-shirt for the human.
This event raises money for BART - Basic Animal Rescue Training, a non-profit organization that trains first responders how to address animals in emergency situations.
