Coming off the heels of an exciting year in sports for Kansas City, Missouri, with the Chiefs winning their third Super Bowl and KC hosting the 2023 NFL Draft, this Midwestern destination is just scratching the surface when it comes to notable sporting events. Below are some highly anticipated happenings that will continue to shine a spotlight on KC’s sports scene in the coming years.


CONMEBOL COPA América – Summer 2024

Kansas City will host two matches of the prestigious CONMEBOL Copa América 2024 tournament. The first game is set to take place on June 25, as Peru awaits the winner between Canada and Trinidad and Tobago at Children’s Mercy Park. The second match on July 1 will take place at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in a marquee matchup of Uruguay versus the United States. 

 

PickleCon – Aug. 8-11

Triple Crown Sports will host its inaugural pickleball convention, PickleCon, Aug. 8-11. Taking place at the Kansas City Convention Center, the event will feature more than 100 pickleball courts and more than 60 vendors. Designed to create an all-inclusive, all-encompassing experience for players of every skill level, PickleCon will include tournaments, camps and clinics, professional interactions, panel discussions and networking events.

 

2026 FIFA World Cup

Nicknamed the “Soccer Capital of America,” Kansas City will serve as one of 16 host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, having won a bid against 44 other destinations. Hosting fans and players from around the globe at the world’s loudest outdoor stadium (GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium) this Midwestern city will welcome what is anticipated to be the largest event in FIFA history with 80 matches and 48 participating nations.
