The Springfield Sports Commission is excited to announce the appointment of Alexandra Finnan as its new Coordinator of Sports Strategies & Events. Finnan, a recent graduate of the University of South Florida’s Vinik Sport and Entertainment Management Program, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in orchestrating high-profile events to the Springfield region.

Finnan holds both a Master of Business Administration in Sports Business and a Master of Science in Sport and Entertainment Management from USF, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the same institution. Her educational background, completed in May 2022, equips her with a strong foundation in sports management and marketing.

"We are thrilled to welcome Ali to our Sports Commission team,” says Lance Kettering, Executive Director.” “Her passion for the sports industry and the experiences she has already garnered will be instrumental in advancing our mission to enhance sports tourism and community engagement in Springfield.”

While at USF, Ali was actively involved with the school’s athletic program, where she played a key role in leading marketing initiatives and event management across various sports. Her most recent experience was with the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, where she contributed to the success of major events, including the record-breaking NCAA Women’s Division I Volleyball Championship.

Finnan’s commitment to the sports and event management field is further evidenced by her volunteer work with organizations such as the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Savannah Bananas, the Gasparilla Bowl, and the NCAA Frozen Four Trophy Tour.

Having spent her entire life in the Greater Tampa Bay area, Ali is eager to bring her passion for sports to the Greater Springfield area and contribute to the continued growth of the Springfield Sports Commission. "After just a few days in Springfield, I can already see how special this community is,” Finnan says. “I can’t wait to bring impactful sporting events to the city for residents and visitors to enjoy. I’m looking forward to the future!"
