Beyond Limits Running is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Happy Hippie Harvest Run will take place November 7, 2020 at the non-profit Gilcrease Orchard in Las Vegas, Nevada. Not only will happy hippie runners have an opportunity to run a 5K, 10K and half-marathon through this historic 90+ year old orchard, but for those who really want to go beyond limits, 6-hour and 12-hour timed races are now available.
Runners will work-up a healthy hippie appetite as they run past apple, pear and peach trees, cucumbers, sweet potato, squash, eggplant, and of course the famous Gilcrease Orchard pumpkins. Since the new 2.5 mile flat and extremely fast course meanders through the entire vehicular free 67-acre orchard, runners have a chance to socialize with the resident chickens, tortoises, bees and owls, all while wearing their best hippie running attire. Ken Rubeli, co-founder of Beyond Limits Running and co-race director of Happy Hippie commented, “Don’t let the happy hippie theme fool you. With an elevation gain/loss of just 20 feet per loop, this newly paved course, which will be certified and submitted for USATF sanctioning, is run on very wide asphalt paths and is ideal for runners wanting to set PR’s.”
The inaugural Happy Hippie Harvest Run, which occurred on November 23, 2019, raised over $7,000 for the non-profit Gilcrease Orchard. Stephanie Rubeli, co-founder of Beyond Limits Running and co-race director of Happy Hippie stated, “Now that the Happy Hippie Harvest Run has a half-marathon, 6-hour and 12-hour timed races, along with the 5K and 10K races, we hope to raise $10,000 for this very special Orchard during this year’s run.”
