The Las Vegas Marathon will have its inaugural event on November 3, 2024, the same day as the TCS New York City Marathon. The Vegas event is positioning itself as an alternative for athletes who weren’t able to secure a place for the NYC Marathon but are still looking to train and race on a similar schedule.
The event will offer three distances: a marathon, a half marathon, and a distance that spotlights the local 702 Las Vegas area code (7.02 miles). The fast course will lead runners on a journey through some of the key areas of the city, including a marathon start line at Red Rock Canyon, a tour through Downtown Summerlin, Symphony Park, 18b Arts District, Las Vegas Boulevard, and a finish at Fremont Street Experience.
“The inaugural Las Vegas Marathon promises to be a world-class marathon experience, and we are excited to welcome runners from across the globe to come and make history in our first year,” said Phil Dumontet, CEO of Brooksee, event producer of the Las Vegas Marathon.
“I feel for all the runners that weren’t selected for the NYC Marathon, and want to ensure that when they choose the Las Vegas Marathon as their alternative race, that they enjoy a premier marathon experience in a beloved vacation destination.
“With our remarkably fast point-to-point course beginning in gorgeous Red Rock Canyon and culminating with an epic finish downtown, I can assure you that we’ll be bringing high energy and forming incredible memories together on November 3rd.”
