Adidas Gauntlet will dribble into the Atlantic City Convention Center April 19-22 for the Adidas Gauntlet Atlantic City Showcase.
The Adidas Gauntlet Atlantic City Showcase anticipates over 300 girls’ basketball teams ranging from 7th to 12th grade and traveling from more than 20 states. This tournament is planning NCAA Certification, which means over 150 collegiate coaches will travel to the Atlantic City Convention Center to scout these players in hopes of recruiting them as student-athletes. Teams will participate in games from Thursday, April 19 through Sunday, April 22 starting approximately at 9:00 a.m. and finishing approximately at 9:00 p.m. every day.
“Atlantic City is shaping up to be the most competitive girls showcase on the East Coast in 2018. We believe Atlantic City is the best possible location for this event and the Atlantic City Convention Center will be completely transformed into an amazing basketball atmosphere,” stated Alex Garfinkle, director of Adidas Select Series. “Not only will this showcase provide some of the best teams from around the country, but they will be putting their talents on display in front of Division 1, 2 and 3 college coaches from all of the major NCAA, NAIA, and Junior College Conferences. Creating an extremely competitive showcase, while also giving the players, coaches, and fans numerous places to go and things to do, makes Atlantic City a one stop shop for the perfect basketball weekend.”
Local Atlantic City businesses are expected to greatly benefit from the activity at the convention center over four days. The estimated economic impact is expected to reach more than $3.1 million. In addition, more than 3,200 hotel rooms have been contracted by convention center visitors.
This event is open to the public and tickets are available for adults and seniors at the door. The adult day pass is $20 and the adult weekend pass is $50. The senior day pass is $10 and the senior weekend pass is $25.
