Bayer Environmental Science will be the presenting sponsor of the Can Am Cup, the upcoming Canada vs. United States golf competition between golf course superintendents. The point-quota competition will be held in New Jersey, Oct. 22-24, at two championship golf clubs: Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield and Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit.

“Bayer Environmental Science has a long history of supporting superintendents in the global market with innovative turf and ornamental solutions,” said Colin White, marketing manager, Bayer Environmental Science (Canada). “Bayer Canada and Bayer US are proud to come together to support this event that will build camaraderie for everyone involved in this first Can Am Cup.”

Registration will open online at 1 p.m. (Eastern), June 20, for members of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) and the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA). Look for more information at www.thecanamcup.com. Space is limited and will be capped at 240 players. The participants, who will be paired according to USGA or Golf Canada official handicaps, will enjoy two rounds of golf and have the opportunity to earn education points.

“We are thrilled to have the support of Bayer Environmental Science at the Can Am Cup, where we will bring together golf course superintendents from the national associations of these two countries in the spirit of fun and unity,” said Rhett Evans, CEO of GCSAA. “We also thank Baltusrol Golf Club and Canoe Brook Country Club for their support.”

“For our first event joining Canada and the United States in competition, the support of Bayer Environmental Science is a huge benefit to all participants and will ensure the Can Am Cup provides everyone with a world-class event,” said Jim Flett, CGSA president. “We look forward to all of the experiences available for Can Am Cup registrants.”
