The Sticks in the Sand Beach Hockey Tournament returns to The Wildwoods Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14. This tournament gives field hockey players of all ages a chance to enjoy the game in a new and exciting way – on the world-famous Wildwoods’ beaches!
Teams from all over the East Coast and beyond will compete on the beaches of the Wildwoods. Games are played five vs. five, with four players on the field plus a goalie, with a maximum of 10 players per team. Each game consists of two, 12-minute halves with a running clock. Fields are 30 yards by 50 yards and the games are played with a rubberized ball that is slightly larger than a regular field hockey ball.
Divisions include U19, U16, U14, and a women’s open and co-ed open.
There is an entrance fee for participants, but no fee for spectators. Sit in the sun and sand and enjoy the unique gameplay of field hockey on the beach!
Each team will receive ten multi-day passes valid for the weekend at Morey’s Piers Amusements and Water Parks as part of their registration fee. Passes are good for admission to both Raging Waters and Ocean Oasis Water Parks, and all three Morey's Amusement Piers (Mariner's, Adventure and Surfside Piers). Teams will also get two bonus days on Friday and Monday, July 12 and 15, to enjoy the rides and water parks.
