New Balance said it will be parting ways with the National Scholastic Athletic Foundation (NSAF), which has handled registration, coordinates meet planning and public relations for New Balance’s national high school indoor and outdoor championships. The brand will be taking sole ownership in directing and coordinating its own meet starting in 2021.
New Balance noted that Since 2010, it has been the presenting sponsor of the New Balance High School Nationals in cooperation with NSAF. Over the past decade, these meets have been recognized as the premium indoor and outdoor high school track and field competition in America.
“Our priority has been and will continue to be to provide a first-class event that offers the opportunity for high school students to compete against the best in the country,” said Tom Carleo, VP of performance running at New Balance. “We are excited to continue to bring the energy and competition the New Balance High School Nationals is known for and are committed to providing a seamless transition for the high school athletes.”
Starting in 2021, the New Balance High School Nationals Indoor meet will be hosted at the New Balance Track and Field Center on 168th St in NYC on March 12-14. Future indoor events will be held at The TRACK at New Balance, the state-of-the-art facility that is set to open across from the New Balance headquarters in Brighton, MA in 2022. Additional details about the date and location for the 2021 outdoor meet will be provided in the following months.
