As Monday's Opening Day of the 2024 US Open drew the largest single-day crowd in event history (74,641), ticketing technology company Logitix reports that demand for tickets on the secondary market is also up.
The number of tickets sold on the secondary market has surged by 25% year over year, while the prices of those tickets have also increased.
Logitix compiled data from sold tickets via multiple ticket marketplaces, which reveals the following key insights across the entire tournament (price listed is per ticket for individual sessions, not including fees):
Arthur Ashe Stadium:
2023: $370.99
2024: $394.21 (+6%)
Louis Armstrong Stadium:
2023: $201.27
2024: $266.50 (+32%)
Overall:
2023: $347.75
2024: $376.26 (+8%)
Note: the volume of tickets sold on the secondary market at Arthur Ashe is 6x the number of tickets sold for Louis Armstrong sessions.
Open Day tickets also trended up by over 20% year over year ($208.69 vs. $252.25 per ticket). The volume of tickets sold on the secondary market for Opening Day was up 33%.
