High School Jamboree Back Bigger Than Before

Back bigger than ever for the fourth consecutive year, the Rocky Mount Event Center and the City of Rocky Mount and Recreation Department are excited to announce their collaboration once again for the 4th Annual Rocky Mount Summer High School Jamboree sponsored by Choice FM.

The highly anticipated event has become a staple in the community, drawing in basketball enthusiasts from all over North Carolina. The jamboree will showcase multiple scrimmage games involving a total of 56 high school junior varsity and varsity boys’ and girls’ basketball teams. Michael Mosley, the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at Southwest Edgecombe High School, played a crucial role with the 56-team roster.

By collaborating with Coach Mosley, the Event Center and RM Parks and Recreation ensured the quality of competition at the High School Jamboree while fostering a sense of community spirit among players and fans. The ever-growing event that started out with eighteen participating teams in 2021, has seen a wavering increase of seventeen more teams from the 39 teams in 2023.

Attendees can expect to see teams from eighteen counties from across the state of North Carolina; Nash, Edgecombe, Pitt, Martin, Hertford, Wayne, Beaufort, Johnston, Wake, Wilson, Greene, Cumberland, Craven, Sampson, Camden, Franklin, Rockingham, and Onslow.

For two days, the teams will hit the courts in the state-of-the-art venue on Tuesday, June 25th and Wednesday, June 26th. Doors for this two-day fun experience are set to open at 9:00 a.m. Not only will guests be able to watch all the games happen on seven courts, but Game Day Adventure & Arcade will also be open. Guests of all ages will have the option to purchase play time in the unique family entertainment center that includes, aerial ropes course, 20 themed climbing walls, arcade games, soft play area/ballocity, cornhole and more. Adding to the excitement, Level Up gaming Theater will be in attendance to provide some extra fun for attendees of all ages.

The mobile video game theater boasts seven huge HDTVs offering some of the best games and consoles around. Additionally, there will be a bounce house available for younger attendees to enjoy throughout the two-day thrilling basketball action. One of the three concessions will be open for guests for delicious menu items as well as adult beverages.

As the first-time sponsor for the High School Jamboree, Choice FM 92.1 will take center stage with a live remote and DJ at the High School Jamboree, along with some great giveaways. Sponsor for the event, Choice FM, will be distributing awards for best female and male player, along to the winner of the High School Jamboree in male and female category.

The High School Jamboree will be one of the many sports events that the Downtown venue has hosted in 2024. The Event Center will close out the month of June with hosting their 20th sports event, the North Carolina Jam Basketball Tournament presented by longtime partner Big Shots Nation.
