The Jacksonville Onslow Sports Commission has updated its calendar for the year.

 

Sledgehammer Beach Run

Half Marathon, 10k & 5k

Presented by Marine Federal Credit Union

January 25, 2025

Take in the views and explore North Topsail Beach while running on the beach in either our Half Marathon, 10k or 5k. 

Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission is proud to present the "Sledgehammer Beach Run" in memory of Dr. E. B. Sledge. The mission statement of the "Sledgehammer Beach Run" is: To Honor the memory of Sledgehammer and All Combat Veterans." Sledge was a lifelong Marine who spent the remainder of his post war years coming to terms with what he and his fellow combatants experienced during World War II. 

Part of the proceeds go to Semper Fi & Americas Fund.


 

Ainsley's Angels Run With Your Heart

15k, 10k & 5k

March 1, 2025

Entering its 11th year, the Run With Your Heart 5K/10K/15K/Virtual is a major fundraiser for Ainsley's Angels in Eastern Carolina and Ainsley's Angels in America. This race brings both the local community and the entire nation together to promote the message of inclusion. Together, we shall accomplish so much more than we ever could alone!

3D Archery Shoot & 5K Trail Run

3D Archery Shoot – Is a “real woods experience” with a minimum of 31 targets, one to represent each of the 31 heroes that died in 2011, plus some additional fun shots. You’re guaranteed to be challenged! Each competitor will receive a commemorative pin. Medal awarded to top score in each class. 

5K Trail Run - A wooded trail run through the property known as the “400-acres.” The trail is predominantly flat and should be fun for all. This is a course created especially for Frogman. Medals awarded to the top-overall male and female, top-overall male and female masters, and first place in each age division. Everyone crossing the finish line receives a finisher medal.
