The Cleveland Marathon announced today that registration for the 47th annual race is now open. The event, featuring a 5k, 10k, half and full marathon distance as well as a multi-race challenge series, is scheduled to take place May 18 and 19, 2024.

The Cleveland Marathon is the region’s premiere distance running event. One of the nation’s oldest marathons, the race continues to dazzle runners as they snake through historic streets, move past national landmarks like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, and enjoy awe-inspiring views of Lake Erie.

“We’re excited to welcome people from across Northeast Ohio and the world back to Cleveland in May,” said Race Director Ralph Staph. “This discounted window for registration gives our most dedicated runners a chance to save as they make plans to return for one of the most iconic running events in the country.”

No matter your experience level, the Cleveland Marathon has an event designed for everyone.

  • 26.2 Mile Full Marathon distance that envelops runners in city skyline and lakeshore views
  • 13.2 Mile Half Marathon, a perfect combination of endurance and excitement
  • 10K, a 6.2 Mile course through the heart of Cleveland
  • 5K, a 3.1 Mile course that’s fun and fast for all ages
  • Kids Run, Saturday fun run to get all ages involved

The Cleveland Marathon will once again partner with Fleet Feet as its Official Training Partner. Runners of all abilities can sign up for training programs specifically designed for each distance. Training sessions are conveniently located on both the east and west sides of Cleveland. Runners can also obtain information and tips on training, injury prevention and more via online webinars from staff at the University Hospitals Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute, the Official Medical Provider of the Cleveland Marathon.

Submissions for the 2024 Cleveland Marathon Charity Program will open soon. Organizations that become Official Charity Partners benefit from extensive promotion through our powerful social media channels, engaging email newsletters, and onsite activation opportunities. Last year, charity partners raised more than $460,000 for their organizations. The Cleveland Marathon has raised more than $3 million for local charities since its inception in 1977.
