Canton, Ohio Set to Become Running Mecca This Summer

There are so many running events in Stark County in 2021. From a full marathon to family friendly runs your list of races to register for this season is sure to grow a little longer!

Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon / May 1 / Canton
Be a part of the greatest race around! The Marathon is a full 26.2-mile event that will take you on a scenic journey of Canton, OH. Runners will finish at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium and will travel a pure out and back course. Get signed up before it is too late for the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, or Team Relay to experience this legendary race around Canton!

2021 Mother of All Races / May 8 / Canal Fulton
Come celebrate Mother's Day Weekend when the Canal Fulton Rotary presents the “Mother of All Races” 5K Run/Walk, 10K Run, 5K Competitive Walk. There is special pricing for Mother/Daughter and Mother/Son teams.

Running with my Gnomies / May 15 / Canal Fulton
Running with My Gnomies is a 25k and 50k through the hills of Camp Tuscazoar in beautiful Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Not only will you get to run with your Gnomies (Friends), you will also run with Gnomes! As you run the course look for the Gnomes of Tuscazoar. There are many of them hiding among the rocks and trees of the Camp Tuscazoar forest. Count them and see if you can find them all!

Hero Run 5K Run/Walk / May 31 / Massillon
The HERO 5K Run/Walk is a looped 3.1-mile run-walk along 13th street in Perry Township on Monday, May 27. This is the six-year for the HERO 5K Run/Walk and is an event in conjunction with the Perry Township Flags of Freedom.

Eagle Up Ultra Marathon 100 mile / June 5-6 / Canal Fulton 
Based at Canal Fulton's St. Helena Park, the course is flat and fast ... on the Olde Muskingum and Ralph Regula Towpath Trails. There's plenty of shade and the scenery is beautiful. Run/walk along the Tuscarawas River and the Ohio Erie Canal. You have 24 hours to complete 100 miles, 100 kilometers (62 miles), the NEW 50/50 ... [50 Miles, then 50 Kilometers], 50 miles or 50 kilometers (31 miles). Compete as an individual or relay team.

Running Through History 5K / June 19 / Canton
A fun, family friendly Run/Walk in Stadium Park to commemorate the life of Marion Motley, one of Canton’s famous citizens. Proceeds from the event will go to the Marion Motley Memorial Foundation.

CAK5K on the Runway / July 10 / Canton
Enjoy a unique view of the Akron-Canton Airport, from the runway! Join family, friends and fellow aviation-enthusiasts as you watch aircraft depart and arrive from CAK while on the flattest course in the region.

Women's 6K Festival / July 17 / Canton
A festival in Centennial Plaza in Downtown Canton that focuses on a Sisterhood surrounded by speakers, businesses, and opportunities for Women. The festival will be combined with a Women’s Only 6K Run / Walk. The course will be SUPER fast and this will be a very high profile event!

Royal Docks Tailgate 5K / August 8 / Canton
Enjoy a fun, fast, and competitive race as we run in and around Jackson Community Park. Great post-race tailgate featuring music and one complementary Royal Docks beverage.

G.L.O. 5K and Festival / August 13 / Hartville
Join us for the G.L.O. 5K and Moonlight Market on Friday, August 21st. The evening will start with the 5K race and Moonlight Market starting at 6:00. Enjoy live music, handcrafted vendors, food trucks, and much more! End the fun-filled evening with friends and family by watching the fireworks show beginning at 10:00!

Tuscazoar 100m & 50m / September 4 / Historic Zoar
The course will be a 25-mile loop (4 loops for the 100-mile race and 2 loops for the 50-mile race) consisting of single track trail, old railroad beds, and towpath trail. Along the course, you will see beautiful woodlands, overlooks, an old iron mine, Dover dam, the Tuscarawas River and the historic town of Zoar.

The Haunted Forest Marathon / October 31 / Canal Fulton
The Inaugural Haunted Forest Marathon is scheduled to run on Sunday, October 31st, 2021 in Canal Fulton, Ohio. The event will be the culmination of events in Canal Fulton throughout the month of October. The race will consist of a full marathon (26.2 miles), a half marathon (13.1 miles), and a 5K (3.1 miles). The event will be heavily themed with a spooky starting line, tombstone mile markers, zombie water stations, and props all along the course. We will be running on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath from St Helena Heritage Park.

10th Annual Harvest Moon Run / November 7 / East Canton
10th Annual Harvest Moon Run to benefit Community Harvest a program of the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank is Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Varian Orchards. Check back for more details and to sign-up.

Perry Rotary Turkey Trot / November 25 / Canton
Come join the Perry Twp. Rotarians and the Perry Community on Thanksgiving Morning for our 23rd Annual Perry Twp. Rotary Turkey Trot on November 28, 2020. This is a 5K Run/Walk, Competitive Walk, & Little Gobbler Run at Central Catholic High School, 4824 Tuscarawas St. W, Canton, OH 44708. This annual event has become a family event that hosts over 2800 runners/walkers and their families each year.
