The Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour, the longest-running professional wakeboard competition will visit West Chester, Ohio this weekend as part of its 25th-anniversary season. Voice of America MetroPark will host the final stop of the tour on August 12, 2017.
The event will bring an estimated economic impact of $150,000 to the region and feature the top 16 professional men wakeboarders in the world competing for the coveted world championship. In addition to high-flying wakeboard action, the Supra Boats Pro Wakesurf Tour will bring one of the hottest up-and-coming sports in North America to West Chester. Wakesurfing – riding the boat’s wake without the help of a towrope – saw an astonishing 30 percent year-over-year growth from 2012 to 2015.
“Each lake in this year’s tour is ideal, with perfect water conditions for our athletes and comfortable amenities for the audience,” said Rick Tinker, president of Supra Boats, title sponsor of the tour.
