Following a successful 2012 USA Triathlon Youth & Junior National Championships in Butler County, USA Triathlon (USAT) has extended their contract with the Butler County Visitors Bureau (BCVB) to host the USA Triathlon Youth and Junior National Championship event at Butler County’s Voice of America MetroPark through 2015.
“We are thrilled that USA Triathlon has chosen to extend its relationship with the BCVB and return to Butler County for an additional two years,” said Mark Hecquet, Executive Director of the Butler County Visitors Bureau. “USAT’s commitment to the BCVB and Butler County further emphasizes Butler County’s prominence as an premier destination to host major sporting events.”
The USA Youth and Junior National Championships will feature more than 700 triathletes ages 7 to 19 from across the country, who will compete in youth, youth elite, and junior elite categories.
The Bureau hosted the National Championships for the first time in 2012. With the two-year extension, the Butler County Visitors Bureau will host this prestigious event for a total of four consecutive years. This year’s event will take place on August 2-4 at Voice of America MetroPark.
“To have a sporting event of this magnitude in Butler County through 2015 will be a great boost to the local economy. We look forward to welcoming the athletes and their families back to West Chester and the surrounding communities.” said Jason Williams, BCVB Director of Sports & Events, “The event is expected to draw over 1,700 visitors to Butler County and have an annual estimated economic impact of $500,000.”
