NCAA DI Women’s Basketball Regional Returns to OKC in 2017

The NCAA has announced that Oklahoma City will host a 2017 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Regional at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. This will mark the fifth time since 2008, including the up-and-coming 2015 NCAA Women’s Basketball Regional, that Oklahoma City has hosted this event. (2008, 2009, 2013, 2015 & 2017). Oklahoma City All Sports will partner with University of Oklahoma to host the 2017 NCAA Women’s Basketball Regional.

“It has been an exciting week for the All Sports Association. First, with the announcement of the NCAA men’s first and second rounds coming in 2016, and now the announcement of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Regional returning to Oklahoma City in 2017”, said All Sports Executive Director, Tim Brassfield. “Being named a host of this event for the fifth time since 2008 shows the commitment our organization, this city and our fans has to the NCAA and women’s basketball. We look forward to being able to send another team through the ‘Oklahoma City Regional’ to the Final Four.”

It was announced on earlier this week that the 2017 Women’s Final Four will be hosted in Dallas by the hosted Big 12 Conference and the Dallas Sports Commission at the American Airlines Arena. The winner of 2017 ‘Oklahoma City Regional’ will advance straight to Dallas.

Tickets are currently on sale for the 2015 NCAA DI Women’s Basketball Regional. The 2015 Oklahoma City Regional will be played on March 27 & 29 at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. Tickets for 2017 NCAA Women’s Basketball Regional will be made available Fall 2016.
