The Intercollegiate Tennis Association is set to hold its second national championship tournament of the 2015-16 season, as the nation's top Division I men's players gather in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to take part in the 2015 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships.
Pre-qualifying matches are slated to begin on Saturday, Oct. 3, with qualifying matches starting on Oct. 5 and main draw contests getting underway on Oct. 8. The singles and doubles finals are scheduled for Oct. 12.
This marks the 11th straight year that the University of Tulsa will serve as the official tournament host, and most of the action during the two-week event will take place on the courts of the Michael D. Singles quarterfinalists, doubles finalists and consolation champions will receive an automatic entry into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Nov. 12-15, held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York.
Notre Dame's Quentin Monaghan is the highest-ranked singles player in the main draw, currently holding down the No. 5 spot in the Oracle/ITA Men's National Singles Rankings. Duke's Nicolas Alvarez, who was runner-up to TCU's Cameron Norrie at the 2015 Oracle/ITA Masters, Virginia's Thai-Son Kwiatkowski and Tulane's Dominik Koepfer are the other Top 10 ranked players in the singles draw, holding the No. 7, 8 and 10 positions, respectively.
Georgia's top-ranked doubles duo of Austin Smith and Ben Wagland highlight a deep doubles main draw. Texas Tech's Felipe Soares and Hugo Dojas (No. 3), LSU's Boris Arias and Jordan Daigle (No. 4), Wake Forest's Christian Seraphim and Skander Mansouri (No. 5), Florida State's Benjamin Lock and Marco Nunez (No. 7) and Alabama's Korey Lovett and Becker O'Shaughnessey (No. 9) are also entered in the main doubles draw.
A player from the ACC has won the Saint Francis ITA Men's All-American Singles Championship in each of the past five years, with Louisville's Sebastian Stiefelmeyer earning the crown last year. Virginia's Mitchell Frank (2013 and 2011) and Alex Domijan (2012 and 2010) each winning two titles.
Notable past winners of the Saint Francis ITA Men's All-American Singles Championship include: John Isner (Georgia, 2005); James Blake (Harvard, 1998); Bob Bryan (Stanford, 1997) and MaliVai Washington (Michigan, 1988). Al Parker (Georgia, 1989-90) is the only back-to-back singles champion in Saint Francis ITA Men's All-American Championship history.
A doubles team from the SEC has won 6 of the past 10 Saint Francis ITA Men's All-American Championship titles, including the past three. Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese (Tennessee, 2013-14) are the only back-to-back doubles champion in Saint Francis ITA Men's All-American Championship history.
Stanford has won the most men's singles titles with six, followed by Georgia with five and Virginia at four. Tennessee has won the most men's doubles titles with five, followed by UCLA with three.
