Pelican Bay Aquatic Center Voted Local Family Favorite

Pelican Bay Aquatic Center, a seasonal pool owned by the City of Edmond and managed by Sports Facilities Companies (SFC), has been chosen by local families as a favorite place to swim for the second year in a row. Metro Family Magazine recently announced their 2022 Family Favorites, an annual collection of “best of” family-friendly businesses in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Nominations and votes are submitted by the magazine’s readers and the local public, and winners are announced each year to direct local and visiting families to the best businesses and services. Pelican Bay Aquatic Center was voted the ‘Best Place to Swim’ in the Oklahoma City metro for the second year in a row.

Pelican Bay's 2022 season and daily pass sales have surpassed last year's numbers, proving that the locals enjoy spending their summer days swimming, taking swim classes, and enjoying special events. For example, at the nearly sold-out Liberty Fest Celebration on July 4, visitors in attendance enjoyed a night swim with music and front-row seats to Edmond's Independence Day fireworks.

Pelican Bay's General Manager, Marina Wells, expressed her excitement and gratitude for receiving the award, "I am truly humbled to receive this award again on behalf of the entire team at Pelican Bay. Serving as the general manager of this park is an exhilarating experience. Watching families come back year after year, their kids learning and improving their swimming skills, and visitors discovering the park is truly wonderful. I want to extend my gratitude to my staff, who always go above and beyond to ensure our guests receive the best in aquatics. This award shows that our community has recognized it. Pelican Bay, managed by Sports Facilities Companies, is located near the heart of Edmond and has been a location for family entertainment since 2002. The waterpark features two 150 ft. water slides, diving boards, a current channel, an aquatic climbing wall, and a splash pool as well as a playground, concessions, and bathhouses.

Patrons and members have access to swim lessons, water aerobics, and night swims, amongst other engaging programming. In addition, the Aquatic Center is available for birthday parties and large, full-facility rentals. Pelican Bay is a seasonal park, open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.
