This Saturday, the 100% RAW Powerlifting Federation-sanctioned Eerie Power competition will take place at Sinai Sports, showcasing the region’s top strength athletes as they perform bench presses and powerlifting to achieve their best raw lift.
The event will feature 46 lifters from Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and Indiana, competing across various weight classes and age divisions. Results will be determined by the total weight lifted across the three main lifts.
The doors open at 8 a.m., with lifting scheduled to begin at 9:15 a.m. Weigh-ins will be held Friday at 5 p.m. and again Saturday morning at 8 a.m. Admission is $10.
“This competition is about pushing limits and building a community of strength,” said Diane Lewis, meet director of Eerie Power. “We invite everyone to come out and support these incredible athletes as they showcase their hard work and dedication”
Athletes will compete for top honors across various categories, with awards for the top four placements in the open powerlifting event. The Outstanding Lifter awards will recognize the top male and female lifters in both lightweight and heavyweight divisions.
Additionally, Lax Bash will host its Boo Bash tournament this weekend at the Erie Insurance Fields in McKean. As the largest fall event in the Midwest, teams traditionally travel from Canada and the Midwest region to participate. Girls' teams will compete on Saturday, followed by boys' teams on Sunday, with four games scheduled each day.
