Sinai Sports, the Erie Sports Center and Fort Leboeuf High School will be buzzing with action this weekend, as the World Ninja League, Erie Sports Center softball and volleyball and EPIC volleyball tournaments bring athletes of all ages to Erie County.
The World Ninja League Season 10 Regional Qualifier is set to take over Sinai Sports Saturday and Sunday, showcasing talent from athletes ranging in age from 6 to over 40. Competition on Saturday begins at 9 a.m. with the 6-8 age group and runs continuously throughout the day, culminating with the adult division at 9 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony. On Sunday, the competition will kick off at 9:30 a.m. with athletes aged 13-17 and concludes with the 15+ age group at 3:30 p.m., with awards immediately following.
The World Ninja League promotes the sport of Ninja Obstacle Competitions globally. Athletes of all ages, from aspiring young ninjas to seasoned competitors, demonstrate their skills and determination as they vie for top honors and a chance to advance in the league.
Youth softball and volleyball tournaments are also taking place this weekend at the Erie Sports Center.
Fifteen teams from Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York are scheduled to compete in a 16U/18U Softball Tournament being played Saturday and Sunday starting at 8 a.m. each day.
The sports center will also kick off its girls’ volleyball tournament 2025 schedule this weekend with the first two of its 10, one-day tournaments. A girls 14 regional tournament will be played on Saturday and a girls 16 regional on Sunday. The two, 10-team tournaments will feature pool play format, with matches being the best of three sets using rally scoring. Spectator tickets are available for $5.
More girls’ volleyball will wrap up the weekend on Sunday at Fort Leboeuf High School as EPIC Volleyball hosts the first of five one-day tournaments scheduled for 2025. Ten teams are registered for the girls 13 regional starting at 8 a.m. Spectator tickets are available for $5.
