The Erie Sports Commission (ESC) will present seven awards when it hosts its annual Sports Tourism Awards on Thursday, Feb. 29 at the Ambassador Center.
The presentation will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.
The ESC hosts the event to honor and recognize the outstanding efforts of those people who made 2023 a successful year in Erie sports tourism. More than 100 event rights holders, venue directors, elected officials, community leaders and their guests are expected to attend.
Awards will be presented by local community leaders, including Erie County Executive Brenton Davis; Joe Schember, Erie Mayor; Gus Pine, Executive Director for Erie Events; John Oliver, President and CEO of VisitErie; Pat Harkins, PA State Rep., and Doug Pershun, owner of Erie Gymnastics Center and event planner for Stars and Stripes Gymnastics Invitational.
