Presque Isle PWC Poker Run and Stunt Show to Debut June 11 in Presque Isle Bay

The Erie Sports Commission (ESC) is pleased to announce that the HydroTurf Surf and Tour will stop in Erie to debut the new Presque Isle Personal Water Craft (PWC) Poker Run and Stunt Show on June 11. The event will begin with a Jet Ski Poker Run, which will lead participants to stops around Presque Isle Bay, and will feature three Hydo-Turf Jet Ski Freestyle shows.

The freestyle shows will take place at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on the Bay in the space between the Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel and Dobbins Landing. Stunt shows will feature Jason “The Destroyer” Stoyer, a four-time national champion, Amateur World Champion Chris Langlais, and Justin Sylvain, recent winner of the US Super Cup of WaterCross. The Jet Ski Poker Run will begin at 11 a.m.

The PWC Poker Run and Stunt Show will join the second annual Erie Poker Run, which will feature up to 60 go-fast powerboats, to create a spectator-friendly waterfront weekend on Erie’s Bayfront. Powerboats are scheduled to depart Wolverine Marina beside the Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel at 10 a.m. the same day.

The event is free and open to spectators. In addition to the show and watercraft on display, spectators will enjoy autograph sessions with freestyle performers, trivia contests, sponsor giveaways, and more.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Boots on Ground, an Erie-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping veterans and their families who are struggling and living with PTSD.

“I’m ecstatic to bring this event to Erie with the help of the Erie Sports Commission,” said Mike Young of Surf and Turf Promotions. “We’re going to create a really exciting weekend on the water that will be a fun experience for Erie to see watercraft that you don’t normally see on the water day-to-day.”

“June 11 is going to be a can’t-miss day on Erie’s Bayfront,” said Ron Sertz, Executive Director of the Erie Sports Commission. “Mike has some first-rate jet ski stunt artists lined up for our show, and adding that to the powerboats in town for the Erie Poker Run is going to make for a truly spectacular event.”

Registration for the PWC Poker Run is open for $30 for single riders, $40 for double riders, and one hand will be given per watercraft.
