For the first time, P3R will offer their award-winning Kids of STEEL programming during the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler, so that parents and guardians can run the race on Nov. 6. The program will be FREE to children for all parents and guardians participating in the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler.
On race day, parents and guardians will be able to drop off their children ages five to 13-years-old at Highmark Stadium before the start of the 10-mile race. Participants will then return to Highmark Stadium after they finish their race to pick up their children. As the adults participate in “the most Pittsburgh race ever,” P3R’s youth programming team and Kids of STEEL coordinators will lead kids in fun activities that will include Pittsburgh themes similar to what their parents/guardians will see along the course.
“We know that finding childcare can be one obstacle that prevents parents and/or guardians from participating on race day. With this new program, parents can take the time to focus on their fitness goals while knowing that their kids are having fun as they MOVE with our Kids of STEEL team,” said Troy Schooley, P3R CEO.
The EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler, known as the “most Pittsburgh race ever,” will celebrate its 10th anniversary and take participants on a scenic tour of Pittsburgh with fun course activations along the way that will celebrate the Steel City.
