Major League Table Tennis (MLTT), the first professional table tennis league in the U.S., is bringing its biggest event of the season—Championship Weekend—to Philadelphia on April 12-13, 2025, where the top four teams will compete for the prestigious MLTT Cup and a $50,000 purse at the Athletic Recreation Center on the campus of Saint Joseph’s University.
“Philadelphia is a city that lives and breathes sports, and we couldn’t ask for a better host for MLTT Championship Weekend,” said MLTT Founder and Commissioner Flint Lane. “With a passionate fan base and a history of hosting high-profile events, it’s the perfect place to showcase the energy, skill, and excitement of professional table tennis.”
Philadelphia 76ers owner David Blitzer and team President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey are among a world-class set of investors for MLTT, which are fueling MLTT’s rapid growth, further solidifying the league’s rising profile in professional sports.
Championship Weekend will feature some of the world’s best table tennis talent, including more than 30 Olympians across MLTT’s eight teams—with 12 players who recently competed in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Eleven MLTT athletes currently rank among the top 100 singles players worldwide.
With fast-paced action and innovations like the Golden Game, MLTT has become one of the fastest-growing professional sports leagues. In 2024, the league amassed over 15 million views across digital platforms, with fans consuming more than 100,000 hours of table tennis content. MLTT.com and its social media platforms reached over eight million unique visitors, a testament to the league’s increasing influence.
