Snowmobiles to Showcase Erie Winter at Lake Erie Speedway

Lake Erie Speedway will host the first-ever Lake Erie Winter Showcase on Saturday, Feb. 2, featuring several classes of snowmobile racing.

Gates for the inaugural event open at 9 a.m., and the event will begin at 11 a.m. Competitors can enter for $20 in advance or $30 on the day of the event in a variety of classes, including vintage-pre 1980, single cylinder, mod class, sport, utility, side-by-side and more. Spectator admission is $10, and children ages 12 and under are free.

“Hosting an event like Lake Erie Winter Showcase allows us to offer something new to the many people in our area who enjoy the snow,” said AJ Moore, operations manager at Lake Erie Speedway. “People are excited to come out and take advantage of our region during this traditional off season and meet others from outside of our area with similar interests in winter sports. With the help of partners like Lictus Oil & Propane and the Erie Sports Commission, I’m confident we’ll have a great event.”

Snowmobile and ATV age groups include 12-14, 15-17, and 18+.

Registered competitors will receive four free tickets to the Race of Champions Modifieds, Compacts and Must See Racing Sprints scheduled for Saturday, June 15 at Lake Erie Speedway.

Main Event class winners will receive two general admission tickets to Crash-A-Rama, scheduled for Saturday, May 25.

Through the Lake Erie Winter Showcase, I know more people will have the opportunity to see that our region is a great destination, even in the winter.”
