Summer Sizzler returns to Erie for its First Tournament of the Year

The Millcreek Legion Post #773 Baseball Club is hosting its 22nd Annual Millcreek Summer Sizzler Baseball Tournament this Friday through Sunday at the McDowell High School Hanlon Athletic Complex. This year, the tournament will feature eight 14U teams playing on the newly installed artificial turf field.
 

Each team is guaranteed a minimum of three games. The schedule includes one game each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday or a doubleheader on Saturday and one game on Sunday.
 

In addition to this weekend’s tournament, two more Summer Sizzler tournaments are scheduled for August 2-4 (11U and 12U) and August 9-11 (10U and 11U). Over 40 teams from Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and Maryland will participate in the three-weekend series of tournaments.
 

“We are thrilled to welcome teams to our new turf field for this year’s Summer Sizzler,” said Millcreek Youth Athletic Association Baseball Director, Rick Rohan. “Our upgraded facility will offer an outstanding experience for players, and we look forward to a fantastic series of tournaments this summer.”
 

The Millcreek Legion Post #773 Baseball Club is dedicated to fostering youth baseball by providing quality programs, facilities and opportunities for young athletes. The club is committed to promoting sportsmanship, teamwork and the love of baseball in the community.
 

Also taking place this week is the 4th Annual Lake Effect Elite Camp hosted by Lake Effect Hockey taking place Wednesday through Sunday at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
 

The camp provides a comprehensive development program for young hockey players featuring on-ice skill and skating instruction from former Erie Otters Justin Hodgman and Dane Fox, specialized goalie sessions, off-ice physical assessments, nutrition sessions and a four-game round-robin tournament.
 

Lake Effect Hockey, LLC is known for organizing high-quality youth hockey tournaments and sporting evets throughout Northwestern Pennsylvania and Southwestern New York, offering young athletes top-tier training and competition opportunities.
