The Erie Sports Commission is pleased to announce that USA Volleyball will make Erie a stop on its National Junior Beach Tour in 2017, hosting the Erie JBT National Qualifier on Saturday, June 17. The tournament will be held at Presque Isle State Park Beach 11.
The USAV Junior Beach Tour will feature more than 70 events in 2017, covering 30 states and 33 USAV regions.
The event marks the first time USA Volleyball will host a beach event in Erie, PA. The event is open to boys and girls ages 10 to 18 with a USA Volleyball membership. Teams are comprised of two male or two female players in age divisions from 12U through 18U. No coed teams may participate. Players will have the opportunity to earn bids to the USAV Junior Beach Tour National Championships at this event, with three bids given per division, per gender.
Tournament directors expect more than 50 teams will compete from the USAV Ohio Valley Region, which includes Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York.
