VisitPITTSBURGH President & CEO Jerad Bachar met with 64 students from Billings, Montana, traveling with Global Travel Alliance (GTA) prior to their tour of the Fort Pitt Museum on May 8. Traveling with the group was Ethan Screnock, President of Global Travel Alliance, and Steve Maehl, Vice President of Field Operations and current President of the Student & Youth Travel Association (SYTA), the professional trade association that promotes student and youth travel.
“It was my honor to welcome the students, Ethan, Steve and the group’s chaperones and guides to Pittsburgh,” said Bachar. “While this may have been one of the first group tours to return to Pittsburgh, it certainly will not be the last, and I eagerly look forward to welcoming more groups back to our region soon.”
The trip was GTA’s first-ever student group visit to Pittsburgh and a direct result of a FAM VisitPITTSBURGH hosted for GTA in the fall of 2019.
Pittsburgh is open for business, and VisitPITTSBURGH looks forward to welcoming group travel back to the region. And, as of May 31, all COVID-19 mitigation restrictions will be lifted throughout Pennsylvania.
