Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) conducted its first ever Pickleball Certification Workshop at Palmetto Dunes Tennis & Pickleball Center on Hilton Head Island.
Twelve coaches from seven states, including Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, participated in the workshop that was conducted by Sarah Ansboury, PPR’s Education Consultant and Lead Clinician. PPR Clinicians Linh Ansboury and Randy Coleman assisted.
“It was super exciting, and the coaches involved passionate about pickleball,” said Sarah Ansboury. “Those in attendance learned a lot about coaching a new sport, and I learned a lot about our education and ways to improve it. We are already working on updating the pickleball certification preparation guide with more visuals and video access.”
This certification workshop was the first of many being rolled out across the country this fall, the first six of which are sold out. Thirty more are on the schedule for 2018.
PPR is the official education and certification partner of USA Pickleball Association (USAPA). PPR combined the educational resources of PTR and the expertise of 5-time National Pickleball Champion, Sarah Ansboury, to develop courses and workshop materials in order to certify PPR members to teach and coach pickleball. PPR is a subsidiary of Professional Tennis Registry, the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals and coaches with nearly 16,500 members in 125 countries.
