The 5th Annual Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship is set for February 28 – March 1, 2020 at TPC Myrtle Beach and will host an international field of 90 of the world’s elite junior golfers.
Fujikura, the leader in performance golf shafts, will be the title sponsor
“We are honored to welcome Fujikura as a sponsor of the Dustin Johnson World Junior. Their support and involvement will further enhance the experience for our world-class field of participants and allow them unique access to Fujikura’s outstanding line of composite shafts,” said Dustin Johnson, the 20-time PGA TOUR event winner and co-chair of this event.Fujikura Tour reps will be on site providing product demos and Tour-level fittings to the juniors in the field, showcasing Fujikura’s new performance golf shafts including the acclaimed Ventus line and the new Motore X line. Players will have the opportunity to be fit into the new shafts using launch monitors under the watchful eye of experienced Fujikura representatives, bringing the Tour-level experience these event participants receive to a new level.
“Fujikura has been a huge part of Dustin’s tour success, and we are blessed they have chosen to partner with DJ’s junior tournament,” said Allen Terrell, tournament co-chair and director of coaching at the Dustin Johnson Golf School. “Through this partnership we will not only bring an important new dimension to this tournament, but also grow the game in tandem with this event’s charitable partner, the Dustin Johnson Foundation.”
The tournament, for boys and girls ages 13-18, will feature 90 players from around the world and will be played at TPC Myrtle Beach February 28 – March 1, 2020. The renowned Tom Fazio/Lanny Wadkins design was home to the 2000 Senior Tour Championship and 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Southeast Regional and was built with the idea of hosting Tour-level events. Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship participants get the Tour-caliber experience both on and off the course – including commemorative gift packages, names on their lockers, named placards on the practice range and a PGA TOUR-style scoreboard overlooking the 18th green – to provide players an overall experience similar to what Dustin Johnson enjoys in his professional events.
“We have a renewed focus on junior golf and growing the game, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of this world-class event,” said David Schnider, president of Fujikura Composite America.
