Acclaimed Course Also Named Palmetto State’s 6th Best Public Course

The South Carolina Golf Course Ratings Panel has unveiled its list of the top layouts in the Palmetto State, and Tidewater Golf Club figured prominently in the annual rankings.

Featuring eight holes that play along either Cherry Grove or the Intracoastal Waterway, Tidewater was ranked the third best course along the Grand Strand and the sixth best public layout in the state.

Tidewater’s popularity, given its beauty and superior conditions, was hardly a surprise. The course is home to some of the most stunning views along the Myrtle Beach golf scene, highlighted by Myrtle Beach’s prettiest pair of par 3s (holes 3 and 12) and the par 5 13th, which offers a view of the Atlantic Ocean.

“Our goal, every day, is to create an experience at Tidewater that rivals the best public courses in South Carolina, and this is validation of that effort,” said Chris Cooper, Tidewater’s general manager. “There are few states in the country that can rival South Carolina for quality of golf, so this is an honor we take great pride in. With the heart of the spring season upon us, we look forward to providing an unforgettable experience to our most important constituency – traveling golfers.”
