In a small rural area, finding ways to create an economic impact can be difficult. Manufacturing is the lifeblood of many rural areas, but if a manufacturing plant that employs 200 people in a small community decides to close its doors, that makes a huge impact on the economy of that area. The ideal solution is to diversify the economic development assets of the small community. This, of course, is easier said than done. If a county is fortunate enough to have natural assets that foster economic growth, diversifying is made abundantly easier. Hardin County is one such county
