The National Street Rod Association® is pleased to announce the return of the Street Rod Nationals South Plus, coming to Chilhowee Park, May 3 - 5, 2013.
This year marks the 30th time the National Street Rod Association® has chosen Knoxville as host city for the Street Rod Nationals South Plus. Vehicles will be driven from all parts of the United States to make this a truly unique gathering of vintage automobiles featuring nearly every make, model and style. The event includes vehicles from the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s, ranging in value from $8,000 to $100,000, adding to the automotive excitement created by street rods.
“The Street Rod Nationals South Plus has been a longstanding event in Knoxville and we are thrilled to welcome them back for their thirtieth year,” said Kim Bumpas, President of Visit Knoxville. “This three day car show brings attendees from across the United States to Knoxville and allows new and returning visitors to explore our area’s distinctive attractions, shopping, restaurants, outdoor recreation, and more. Additionally, there are a variety of trails and backroads throughout Knoxville and surrounding areas that attendees can explore while riding in their custom vehicles.”
Spectators will be treated to the sights and sounds of some of the best constructed, most beautiful vintage automobiles ever to gather in one place. Visitors can view more than 2,900 street rods, muscle cars, custom cars, trucks and specialty vehicles from across the Southeast and farther. Plus, every vehicle entering the event will be eligible for any and all awards and giveaways presented during the weekend.
Cars will be on display for public viewing throughout the weekend, while entered in a variety of events including Streets of Rods, 29 Below Rodders, and Pro’s Picks to name a few. There will be more than $73,000 in Super Prize giveaways, plus a special “NSRA Sunday $weep$take$” giveaway presented to the participants of the Street Rod Nationals South Plus, all compliments of the National Street Rod Association.
The event will include manufacturer displays representing leading automotive specialty and aftermarket suppliers, as well as a “Women’s World” area with arts and crafts. A vintage car parts “swap meet” adds to the fun and helps the enthusiast find “one of a kind” parts.
On Sunday, May 5, the "Circle of Winners" will be featured on the grounds, with the award winning street rods of the 39th annual Street Rod Nationals South Plus on display.
