The Tourism Department of the Greene County Partnership and its Sports Council host the first annual “High Tops to High Heels” a Celebration of Women in Sports and Tourism Luncheon” today, Wednesday, October 31, from 11:30-1 p.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church located at 400 West Main Street in Greeneville.
The Luncheon, sponsored by Consumer Credit Union, will feature two dynamic speakers; East Tennessee State University’s head women’s basketball coach Brittney Ezell and Barbara Wolke, Senior Vice President of the Convention & Visitors Bureau in Rutherford County, TN and board member of the Southeast Tourism Society. The emcee for the event will be WJHL News Channel 11 news anchor Sara Diamond.
“October is National Women’s Small Business Month and we, as a committee, are very excited to have this opportunity to celebrate women in the two very important economic drivers in our community,” stated Tammy Kinser, Director of Tourism for the Greene County Partnership. “Our Sports Council and Tourism Task Force feels that this luncheon will be a complement to our already successful Sports Council Luncheon that we presently host each summer.”
Additional sponsors include Greeneville Light & Power, Greeneville Water Commission, Radio of Greeneville, Heritage Community Bank, Creamy Cup and American Greetings.
Much more information will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead. Tickets for the luncheon are $15 each and are available at the Greene County Partnership/Chamber of Commerce office located at 115 Academy Street Monday through Friday from 8:30-5 p.m.
