The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced on Tuesday that it has selected Greeneville, Tennessee and the Greene County Partnership to be the host of the NAIA Beach Volleyball National Invitational. The initial term of the agreement is for the 2024 and 2025 events.
In a collaborative announcement, Jeff Taylor, President/CEO of the Greene County Partnership, shared the excitement surrounding the upcoming hosting of the 2024 and 2025 NAIA Beach Volleyball National Invitational at the Greeneville Beach Volleyball Complex in Greeneville, Tennessee.
"Renowned for its warm southern hospitality, Greeneville and Greene County has a rich history of successfully hosting collegiate championship events," noted Taylor. "The community eagerly anticipates extending a warm welcome to the NAIA in 2024 and 2025, building on our successful hosting of the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships in 2011 and 2012, along with the NJCAA DIII World Series from 2017 till 2023."
Currently, there are 32 institutions that sponsor beach volleyball in the NAIA. In order to achieve championship status, a sport must have 40 schools sponsor the sport and be approved by the NAIA National Administrative Council (NAC) for championship status.
“We are thrilled to welcome Greeneville and Greene County into the family of NAIA championship, invitational and emerging sport hosts,” said Austin Bennett, NAIA Director of Championships. “As the sport continues to grow, we look forward to a new host that is motivated to help us to create a fantastic environment for our student-athletes.”
