National Amateur Baseball Federation Baseball Returns to Knoxville

It may be America’s favorite pastime, but it’s also serious competition as 40 teams convene in Knoxville this summer for the chance to win it all at the National Amateur Baseball Federation’s (NABF) High School 17 & Under World Series, July 16 – 21, 2013.

More than 700 athletes from across the United States and Canada will compete for the World Series Championship.  Events kick off next Wednesday, July 17 with an Opening Ceremony, and conclude on Sunday, July 21 at the ultimate National Championship game at Lindsey-Nelson Stadium on the University of Tennessee campus.

Games will be held in a variety of locations throughout Knoxville and Knox County, including West, Powell, South Doyle, Halls, Gibbs and Karns High School.

The Tournament Director is Buzz McNish, Head Baseball Coach at Lenoir City High School, and recipient of NABF’s “Man of the Year” Award in 2010.

The NABF is the oldest amateur baseball organization in America, operating since 1914 and based in Bowie, Maryland.
