The Tennessee Adventure Challenge, to be held October 10 - 12, 2013 in Knoxville's urban wilderness, is bringing in extreme athletes from not just the state but throughout the Southeast.

The Tennessee Adventure Challenge is a 4-6 hour multi-sport endurance race. Solo and two-person teams will traverse an unmarked course using printed trail maps as they transition between 3-5 outdoor disciplines. Manned checkpoints along the course will provide water, first aid and other support for all racers.

Each Tennessee Adventure Challenge venue will feature its own unique course offering a unique combination of outdoor adventure sports. While the length of each course will vary, the six-hour time limit is standard.

Each event will typically include 3-5 disciplines from a list including but not limited to mountain biking, trail running, trekking, rappelling, ascending, tyrolean traverse, zipline, caving, kayaking, canoeing, riverboarding, swimming and obstacle racing.

Multiple divisions of competition will be offered, including solo male, solo female, two-person co-ed, two-person male and two-person female.

Required gear includes trail running or multisport shoes, hydration pack, mountain bike and helmet. The entry fee is $75.
