Tennessee hosts two sports events this weekend, both on Saturday. They couldn’t be more different.
The Hotter’NHell 5K Will Raise Money for American Cancer Society. It will begin at 8 a.m. from Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville. Expected participation is upwards of 500.
The race begins at the flag pole in front of the park pavilion then quickly moves onto the greenway. The course follows the greenway over the gently rolling hills within the park, then crosses Walpine Lane and merges onto the Northwest Middle School Greenway. Runners and walkers follow the greenway all the way around school property and back across Walpine Lane onto the Victor Ashe Park greenway. The most challenging aspect of the course is the persistent incline between mile 2.5 and 2.75. Race finishes in the parking lot beside the soccer fields.
Awards will be presented in various categories once all runners have finished the course. For information or to register, go to http://www.hotternhell5k.com/
