2019 USAV Girls’ 18s Junior National Championship Returning to Dallas

USA Volleyball is proud to announce that its USAV Girls’ 18s Junior National Championship will be held in the City of Dallas for the second time in three years as the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas will host the event April 26-28, 2019.

The event is expected to draw approximately 260 teams, nearly 3,000 players and over 5,000 family and friends of the players from across the country. The event will crown champions in five age divisions: Open, National, USA, American and Patriot Divisions.

Dallas also served as the host for the 2017 USA Volleyball Girls’ 18s Junior National Championships its second year as a standalone championship for the 18-and-Under age group. Earlier this fall, USA Volleyball announced Dallas as the host city for the 2019 USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Championships.

“With the great success of the 2017 USA Volleyball Girls’ 18s Junior National Championships, it was hard to ignore an opportunity to bring the event back to Dallas,” USA Volleyball Senior Director Tom Pingel said. “The relationship between USA Volleyball, the Dallas Sports Commission and the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center has proven to be a win-win for USA Volleyball teams and the City of Dallas.”

Dallas has served as a tremendous host city partner of many past USA Volleyball events. The USAV Boys’ Junior National Championships was also staged in Dallas in 1998, 2012 and 2016. The GJNC have been held in Dallas in 1998, 2008 and 2013, while the GJNC18 was held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center this past April. The USA Volleyball Open National Championships have been held in Dallas four previous times (1960, 1996, 2002 and 2011). Dallas has hosted two weekends of the FIVB World League as the U.S. Men’s National Team hosted Italy, France and Korea in 2012 followed by Russia, Australia and Bulgaria in 2016.

“Dallas is excited to continue our great partnership with USA Volleyball by hosting the 2019 Girls’ 18s Junior National Championship,” Dallas Sports Commission Executive Director Monica Paul said.  “We are honored to extend our relationship with USAV by hosting The Open next May and the Boys’ Junior National Championships in 2019 as we look forward to the players, coaches, officials and fans coming back to Dallas for more big USA Volleyball Events.”

The 2018 edition of the USA Volleyball Girls’ 18s Junior National Championships will be held in Anaheim from April 27-29 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
