he Abilene Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB), an affiliate of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce, is thrilled to announce that the Famous Idaho Potato Tour will be in Downtown Abilene bringing the world's largest potato on wheels, April 17, 2025.
The Famous Idaho Potato Tour is a nationwide campaign created by the Idaho Potato Commission to celebrate Idaho’s most iconic crop and promote healthy eating, agriculture and fun. Since hitting the road in 2012, the Big Idaho Potato Truck has traveled across the U.S., delighting millions with its six-ton spud and engaging community events. The tour stop in Abilene promises fun photo ops with the giant potato.
The Famous Idaho Potato Truck will be on display at the Abilene Convention Center parking lot at 9 a.m., giving visitors the perfect opportunity to snap a photo with the larger-than-life spud. In true Storybook Capital fashion, a beloved storybook character will also be on hand for photos, making this a uniquely Abilene experience.
