Round Rock to Host NIRSA National Soccer Championship

Round Rock, the Sports Capital of Texas, is hosting the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) National Soccer Championships this November 21-23 at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex (RRMC). The three-day soccer tournament will feature 100 of the top men’s and women’s collegiate club soccer teams from across the U.S. competing for the national NIRSA title. The competitive, high-energy bracket-style tournament will offer fans and soccer lovers a chance to witness high-level soccer games in one of the nation’s most state-of-the-art sports facilities. All competitions are open to spectators and free to attend. 

The NIRSA National Soccer Championships are part of the NIRSA Championship Series, a series of professionally organized recreational college tournaments in the sports of flag football, soccer, tennis and basketball. Round Rock will also be home the NIRSA National Flag Football Championships January 3–5, 2020.

“The NIRSA Championship Series is thrilled to be heading to Round Rock and the outstanding fields and facilities of the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex,” says Valerie McCutchan, NIRSA’s Director of National Sports Programs. “A lot of the teams competing in this tournament are used to competing at top-notch campus facilities during their regular season. But the facilities at RRMC are sure to inspire athletes and officials to put in their best performances and create lasting memories in this celebrated tournament that has been growing in renown for more than 25 years.”

ABOUT ROUND ROCK MULTIPURPOSE COMPLEX - Located at 2001 N. Kenney Fort Blvd. within Old Settlers Park, the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex is a $27 million state-of-the-art sports venue that enables Round Rock to host many new types of events, such as lacrosse, soccer, rugby, ultimate frisbee, flag football and more. The 60-acre sports complex features a championship field with natural grass, another championship field with synthetic turf, four multipurpose fields with natural grass and four with synthetic turf, and Musco sports lighting on all 10 fields.
