One of the advantages to bringing in your team to Laredo is year-round sunny skies. The weather permits year-round tournaments for golf, track and field, baseball, basketball, boxing, volleyball and more. One of the facilities you’ll find in Laredo is Uni-Trade Baseball Stadium, which has a stadium capacity of 6,000 for baseball. Stadium amenities include a press box, concession stands, state of the art LED video board, three private picnic areas and three private party areas. Currently, Uni-Trade Baseball Stadium is the home to Los Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos, a bi-national baseball team. Uni-Trade also plays home to various collegiate baseball tournaments and most recently hosted the 2017 opening ceremony of the Pony Girls Fast Pitch World Series. Uni-Trade Stadium is centrally located by the Laredo International Airport and has several hotels, restaurants and attractions within the area.
Another facility you’ll find in Laredo is the Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course. This 18-hole public course is designed by Robert Trent Jones, II, features a par-72 course with five sets of tees and a longest distance of up to 7,069 yards set along the Rio Grande. Other features include a 132 slope, 74.5 rating, golf pro shop, driving range, one practice putting green, two practice ranges, a restaurant and a conference room that overlooks the Rio Grande. The course continues to be recognized as one of the top public access courses in Texas and has received notable attention nationally.
