The 2024 USRowing Indoor National Championships culminated this past Saturday, February 3, as final competitors gathered in Alexandria, Va. for Erg Sprints 2024. With a new format offering virtual or on-site competition at Erg Sprints, NWErgomania!, and Pittsburgh Indoor Sprints, the championship drew over 2,200 participants across 84 events.2023 USRowing Atlantic City Indoor National Championships, finished in a 07:11.8, nearly a full minute ahead of second-place finisher Lucy Baldwin from Sarasota Crew. Baldwin crossed the finish line in a 08:10.5. Racing in the men's masters E race, world record holder Andrew Benko also held on to his spot as National Champion. Despite just five seconds separating first and second at the 500-meter mark, Benko ultimately finished in a 06:14.3, 27 seconds ahead of Pacific Rowing Club’s Andrew J Ballantyne. Ballantyne crossed the finish line in a 06:41.0. Serhii Budko won the men’s open event in a 06:01.5, finishing just two seconds ahead of Boulder Community Rowing, Inc.’s John Chuter. Chuter crossed the finish line in a 06:03.7. Marsha Coniglio won the women’s open event in 07:15.2. In the most contested event of the regatta, Pine Crest School Crew’s Chance Cornick earned the victory in the under 19 men's 2,000-meter race by just over four seconds, finishing in a 06:22.9. With 276 total competitors and less than one second separating second and third place, Payton Evans and Carsten Paschke won silver and bronze, finishing in a 06:27.0 and 06:27.7, respectively. Sumner Kerr took gold in the U19 women's 2,000-meter event, crossing the finish line in a 06:56.7 to beat Three Rivers Rowing Association’s Reese McGeary. McGeary finished in a 07:26.2 to win silver. Bedford Crew Club’s Hannah Marks finished third in a 07:28.3 to secure bronze. In the U17 men's 2,000-meter race, Coeur d'Alene Rowing Association’s Elijah Harrison took gold in a 06:08.9, twenty seconds ahead of second-place Andrew Vizecky. Vizecky finished in a 06:28.6 to win silver, followed by Angus DeBoer in a 06:38.3. On the women’s side, Marin Rowing Association’s Charlotte Stevens, Community Rowing, Inc.’s Maria Prodan, and Colleen Carpenter took first, second, and third, respectively. Stevens finished in a 07:13.4, followed by Prodan in a 07:27.6. Carpenter crossed the finish line in a 07:38.9 to secure bronze. Reigning National Champion Katherine Feret of TriStar Rowing won the women's under 15 2,000-meter race. Feret, who set a new 12 and under world record in the event at last year’s
