J&A Racing has partnered with the Collegiate Running Association (CRA), a non-profit organization committed to promoting healthy lifestyles among US college students, and the City of Norfolk to host the first Collegiate Running Association National Half Marathon Championship on November 22, 2015, at the Blue Moon Harbor Lights Half Marathon, in Norfolk, Virginia.

"We are thrilled to partner with J&A Racing and the City of Norfolk to bring our Collegiate Running Association National Half Marathon Championship to the Blue Moon Harbor Lights Half Marathon. This event provides an amazing destination for all runners of all ages and abilities along with college students," said CRA President, Steve Taylor. "The willingness for everyone involved in this event to share a mission to mobilize their community and their willingness to open their community to include college students both local and from across the nation is important to us. Forward thinking communities like Norfolk recognize how events like this help attract these students back to their community upon graduation. J&A Racing is a recognized organization not only within the Norfolk community but also nationally with a rich history surrounding successful Road Races. The alignment of our organization’s philosophy and purpose made this partnership a natural match for the Collegiate Running Association. We are excited for the opportunities that lie ahead and to be able to make a lasting impact in Norfolk and for our membership.”

“We are extremely excited and honored that the Blue Moon Harbor Lights Half Marathon has been recognized by such an incredible organization as a perfect fit for the first Collegiate Running Association National Half Marathon Championship," said Race Director, Jerry Frostick. "We look forward to showcasing the City of Norfolk to not just the elites, but all of the student athletes around the country. “

“We thank J&A Racing for making the partnership with the Collegiate Running Association possible,” said Norfolk Mayor Paul D. Fraim. “We look forward to welcoming collegiate runners from across the country, inviting them to experience our vibrant, historic port city. We believe our dynamic, authentic urban waterfront community will entice these students to come back to Norfolk after graduation.”

The Collegiate Running Association is a 501(c)3 non profit organization founded November, 2013 with a mission to promote healthy lifestyles among college students by providing and expanding opportunities in the sport of running. Our vision is to offer national championship events in road racing, mountain running, and trail running with prize money specifically reserved for college students that will be open to all college students enrolled in at least one class.
